She's baaaaaack

Sat Aug 29, 2009, 7:11 PM
Yeah I got interested in drawing Pepper again - at least for now. I just submitted one ("Asking For It") as you may have noticed. I'm in the process of creating the second one (sketched during the same session as the first one) which is a sheer beast - way more going on - compared to the first one. Just got done inking it but it's likely going to take days to color (mostly because I'll only have a few hours here & there each day to work on it).

Damn, I hate inking! It is the most stressful stage for me. At least with pencil sketching & can erase & modify, & the same goes for when I'm digitally coloring, but during the inking, every thing I do is practically permanent. I mean I can fix mistakes, but it's a pain. I'm almost tempted just to leave it at sketches sometimes, and I really love the way pencil sketches look, but when drawing something like intertwined limbs, it's so much clearer when everything is colored, especially in this case where each character is basically color-coded.

I sympathize with your inking woes. I avoid it like I would the plague, small children, and Keanu Reeves movies.

End of line.

All terrifying, I agree.

But is it art? No, it's Jim.

You friend me I friend you!

Me too! Don't worry there'll be more of that stuff. Hopefully I'll be able to save up for a graphics tablet this winter & then I'll be able to crank out the artwork much faster!
